The Embassy of Japan is seeking for a full-time clerk to work in the Culture and Public Relations Section as provided below:

1. Position: Culture and Public Relations Clerk

2. Details: The primary role of Culture and Public Relations desk is to promote better understanding of Japan and Japanese culture by providing a wide range of information and programs to the Tanzanian public. The candidate will assist the Culture and Public Relations Officer in
(1) Organizing cultural events
(2) Disseminate information on Japan from the media
(3) Handle the screening process of Japanese government scholarships to study in Japan
(4) Update Embassy of Japan homepage
(5) Respond to inquiries via e-mails
(6) and other related work that falls under the Culture and Public Relation desk
3. Requirements:
(1) Fluency in spoken and written English and Swahili
(2) Bachelors degree in related field
(3) Knowledge of word, excel, power point
(4) Experience in webpage design
(5) Experience in organizing large events
(6) Experience working with the media, embassies, or cultural institutions
(7) At least 2 years of experience in the related field
(8) Basic knowledge and interest in Japan and Japanese Culture
(9) Great interpersonal skills
(10) Ability to work with precision, attention to detail and under minimum supervision

(1) A Tanzanian Citizen or valid Tanzania Resident Permit holder.
(2) Fluency in both Japanese and English (oral and written) to conduct the duties.
(3) Basic proficiency in Computer, especially Microsoft Word and Excel.
(4) A healthy applicant who is able to work for a long term.
2. Major Duties: Assisting the accounting and administrative section of the Embassy (ex. Preparing/filing documents and recording data in Japanese, handling banking matters, communicating with the local authority including NSSF, and performing other administrative related duties).
