LOCAL GOVERNANCE IN SOUTH KIVU

A recent report
from the Institute of Development Studies looks at how and why local systems of governance have survived in South Kivu in spite of 15 years of war.

COULD YOU SURVIVE ON £1 PER DAY?

This May we’re challenging you to spend 5 days feeding yourself on just £1 a day – the UK equivalent of the extreme poverty line - whilst raising money for Peace Direct.

Why? Because 1.4 billion people in the world today have no choice but to live below the line every day – and they have to make £1 cover a lot more than food.

And because we wouldn’t ask you to do something we wouldn’t do ourselves, here at Peace Direct we’ve already taken the challenge – and survived!

Watch the video diary of one of the team and then find out how to sign up.

Practical Peace is an email newsletter published by Peace Direct. We are an independent charity that supports peacebuilders in conflict zones worldwide. Find out more here.
